Throwback :: African Infused

Nigeria Traditional attire and jadore-fashion.com

While viewing my photo archives, I realized that I never shared these pictures with you. The pictures were taken in December 2011 while on vacation in Lagos, Nigeria. My outfit as worn in the post was unplanned. I was wearing a self-designed African Ankara print skirt with slits (not shown) that tore after I stumbled and fell. We were visiting some family members and it was dark in the house due to a power outage. I was carrying my hubby’s one year old niece while walking into the house and unknown to me, there was a small chair in the walkway. I tripped on the chair and fell. While falling, all I could think about was the little girl in my arms and luckily for us, she was unharmed. I was bruised and the slit on my knee length skirt tore. Thank goodness for a good ol African wrapper / fabric which I wrapped around my waist as my new skirt. 🙂

    Aw, Don't mind PHCN. I'm glad it wasn't a Humpty Dumpty kind of fall. Ankara fabric to the rescue, aye. You look fab regardless. African Queen I dare say, if it doesn't sound so cliche.
