The vacation vibe is slowly making its way through the air, and the city of Miami is the perfect next choice of a spring break vacation for you and your friends. The warm weather, party atmosphere, and cultural excitement of this city in Florida make it one of the best places to go for spring break. Miami is a great place to visit with your family or friends. There are a lot of things to do in the city for everyone. Some people say that the only vice in the city is having fun. It has great beaches and party scenes, as well as cultural and historical places to see and things to do. Here are 5 exciting things to do for your vacation in Miami, from places to go to and foods to eat that will make an unforgettable experience.
I took a girls’ trip to Miami with three of my friends. For most of us, this was the first time in Miami. For me, this is my third time in Miami and my first time taking on Miami Beach as a girls’ trip. The last time I was in Miami was almost 8 years ago with my husband. So, it definitely feels like this is my first time.

Traveling During COVID
Although we are 2 years since the COVID pandemic, things are a lot different in terms of traveling, hotel, and dining. One thing I know for sure is that wearing a mask is mandatory at the airport, on the plane, and in most public spaces in Miami when we travel. Here’s what you should know about traveling during the pandemic from my experience:
- Arrive on time
- Mask is mandatory at the airport and some public spaces
- Mask is required in flight
- Travel with disinfectant wipes, sprays, and hand sanitizers
- Wipe down your armrest and tray in flight
- Keep a pocket-sized hand sanitizer with you at all times

Where To Stay
The hotel choices are endless when it comes to staying in Miami as most of them overlook the ocean and amazing view of the sunset but on my last spring break vacation with my friends, we stayed at the Fontainbleau Miami Beach Hotel. Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire’s Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels in Miami Beach, Florida. The oceanfront resort features spacious guest rooms and suites that make it an unforgettable experience to stay in.
Alternatively, there are a few hotels that I can recommend that you can stay in, like the Hotel South Beach. It’s a quaint, stylish boutique hotel that has a cozy and easygoing vibe. It’s definitely one of the hidden gems I found in Miami to stay in.
Another place you can stay at is the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the long white beach, and a breathtaking sunset view over Miami or the trendy and tropical East Miami Hotel.

Where To Go For Brunch
We had our brunch at this retro-vibe diner called Big Pink on Collins Ave. There’s a huge, wide selection of menus that you can choose from, and this place is popular for brunch. Another place that was recommended by a friend of mine who lives in Miami is the Little Hen in Midtown Miami. It is famous for its flowery archway and is an English-inspired breakfast and brunch boutique, which makes this place perfect for brunch with its dreamy vibe.

Where To Have Dinner
One of the 5 exciting things you can do while you’re on your Miami Vacation is to explore their wide selection of delicious dining options that you can try out! On our first night in Miami, we had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Scarpetta. It’s an authentic Italian cuisine restaurant and if you’re thinking of trying this place up, you might want to dress in your finest as the atmosphere gives out a luxurious feeling. On our second night, we dined at Komodo restaurant in Brickell. Both dinner experiences were good. Komodo was definitely our favorite because of its hospitality, food, and ambiance. It might seem a bit pricey, but the experience was worth it.

Where To Shop
What is a vacation without a shopping spree? You can go to the Miami Design District, where you will find your favorite top-notch brands and luxury shops. It is a creative neighborhood where you can shop, dine, experience contemporary art and design, or even enjoy amazing events happening there. It has 120 flagship stores like Balenciaga, Hermes, Fendi, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and so much more. So, best prepare to splurge in the Miami Design District!

The first thing that comes to mind is the beach. Miami is famous for its sandy beaches, especially the infamous South beach. From north to south, the city has enough beaches for people who want to swim or get a tan. There are also water sports like parasailing, jet skiing, and kayaking.
Or if you prefer to enjoy the contemporary art scene and visit the cultural and historical landmarks in Miami, then I suggest that you visit the Lowe Art Museum, or you can enjoy the art scene at the Art Deco District’s Ocean Drive.
You can even go for a Miami tour to get a sense of the city and learn more about it. The activities you can do while you’re on vacation are endless, just make sure you know what you want to do while you’re in Miami.
