Peplum hem

Hello guys! Hope you all had a great weekend. It rained throughout the weekend, but we didn't let it stop us from our pre-planned activities. Saturday was Nolan’s first swimming class which proved to be interesting and fun. The class was to acquaint him with the pool and circle time play with kids’ rhymes. It was fun and this is one of the activities hubby and I selected for him. In the evening, I went out for a date night with hubby at a Japanese restaurant. The rest of the weekend was spent cooking, resting and working on blog related items.

My love for pastel and blush tones has not diminished. I previously mentioned in my “Trend Alert: Blush Tone” post that pastels and blush tones will be predominant this spring and summer. You will definitely see more styles with spring pastels. This is not the first time I am styling an outfit around blush tones or the asos peplum hem skirt. You can check out prior posts here and here. I took a casual/relaxed approach the first time I wore the skirt. For this post, I went for a feminine approach with the addition of the satin cami - love the back details. I completed the look with a pastel pale pink coat and beige pumps.

Friday!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I have waited patiently for Friday to come as it has been a busy week. Per the weather forecast, it will rain all weekend and I plan to unwind and catch up on my favorite shows. I am particularly looking forward to taking Nolan to his first swimming class this weekend. I am so curious to see his reaction; he loves water and bath time so I am certain he will enjoy the “mommy & me” swimming class.
For this post, I am wearing a pair of jeans like I usually do on weekends. The relaxed look and feel of my “boyfriend jeans” has made it a weekend staple. I always love to complement it with statement pumps or loafers as seen on my Instagram. For this post, I added color by pairing it with a bright blazer, crossbody bag and print pumps.

Check Print

Hi everyone! Hope you are well. I mentioned in my other post that the weather last weekend was great. Today, it is very cold. We also had snow showers yesterday making me feel we are not in spring. Winter does not want to leave us.

I took these pictures on one of the great weather days of spring. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen a “mirror” shot of this outfit last week.  I planned to pair it with deep blue pumps, but opted for Miu Miu pumps to complement the check prints on the outfit. Have a nice week guys

Trend Alert: Blush Tones

Trend Alert: Blush Tones

Despite the cold weather and constant snow here in Maryland, I am already embracing the pastel colors. One of my new found love is pale pink as you can see from my post here. I love the softness and feminine feel of mixing "blush tones". In the coming weeks, I will be posting different ideas on how to add blush tones and pastels to your outfit during the spring season.

Spring Floral

Hi loves! Happy new week! Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a fun filled weekend at Nordstrom. I received a media pass for their “Beauty Trend Show” which was amazing. It was nice hanging out at the fashion show with other bloggers. We had an amazing brunch with Nordstrom’s beauty director afterwards. The event was simply awesome and I am grateful to Nordstrom Pentagon for having me. I spent the rest of my day resting and took Nolan for a walk (or a stroll as he was in his stroller); the weather was warm and beautiful on Saturday. It seems we might have another round of snow this week as winter simply, does not want to end.
In a spring spirit, this floral ensemble mixed with beige accessories is the right combination to kick off the spring season. I consider the floral ensemble a statement piece so kept all others neutral and light. I complemented the floral ensemble with a pale pink coat. Pastel coats are a must for the spring…a great way to solidify spring ensembles.

You can check what I wore to the event on my Instagram. I will be sharing the full outfit next week.

Culottes

Hi everyone! Today is officially the first day of spring and I hope the weather will start warming up. I enjoyed the weather today which was in the low 50s.
Yesterday, I mentioned in a post that culottes are starting to trend and I have been noticing lots of street styles centered on culottes.  Interestingly, I had a denim and green pair back in 2000 and some friends thought it was awkward and out of style. Fast forward to 2014, culottes are making comeback.
There are different versions of culottes. If you are not comfortable with the wide leg pairs, you can always try the version I wore on this post. I prefer to keep the top simple i.e. nothing big or boxy since the pants make a statement on its own.

Pink Grid

Hi loves! Hope you all had a great weekend and how has your week been? I cannot believe my baby Nolan is 9 months already. Phew!!! Don’t they grow up so fast? It still feels like yesterday when I was pregnant and could not wait to meet him and now, he is just the most precious person in our lives.

There is always something new with Nolan; he is so eager to stand and he would rather stand than sit..lol. On Sunday during the church service, he was swinging his hands to the tune of the music. Also, despite all the toys he has, Nolan prefers playing with my cell phone or grabbing my hubby’s. He has an interesting fascination with empty bottles of water and loves the squeaky sound when he squeezes hard. He will be a year in 3 months and I have already started a Pinterest birthday collage for him.

For this post, I toyed around with colors and patterns. The outfit was styled around the JCrew grid pants which I bought on sale. I waited for the sale for several months rather than buying at the original $300 plus price. I got the pink and beige pairs, which I have posted on my Instagram (@JadoreFashion) work style. For a casual approach, I paired the grid pants with a denim shirt. To offset the bright color of the pants, I paired with my Zara pale pink coat. I completed the look with a deep shade of leopard print pumps rather than black pumps - a great substitute without taking away from the look.

Red Shades

Hello Guys! I hope you are doing great. Lately, we have been enjoying the weather as it gradually warms up and this is awesome. I definitely see signs of spring.

For this post, I combined statement pieces into a simple ensemble. The black pants and plain white shirt transformed the whole look. I also included the bold red coat, statement necklace and pumps. There is a shade of red with each accessory and the red lipstick is a mix of two shades of lipsticks i.e NARS & MAC.
I love the “Stacey face pumps” which was a perfect addition to the casual chic style and a great choice for any casual workday. I previously posted this outfit on my Instagram weeks ago after a casual workday -- minus the necklace. I love simplicity with statement pieces.

Black On Black

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. In a few days, it will be the official start of spring. I look forward to spring and really hope we are done with this season’s cold weather. The weather on Saturday was great so, hubby and I took Nolan to the mall in the company of grandma (my mum). I am stocking up on some spring/summer items for Nolan which made me visit the kids’ store, “Janie & Jack”. I have bought items from their website and Saturday was my first time in their store. I picked up a few items including the cutest bow tie, which I posted on my Instagram.
This is my first look with my Gianvito Rossi pumps. For the look, I went for a minimal all-black ensemble with the pumps as the focus. I love simplicity with touches of statement pieces and in this case, the Rossi pumps fit that description and a perfect look for a business dinner i.e. simple, classy and fun.

Something Casual

Hi everyone! The weekend is finally here. Do you have any plans? I will be working on Saturday and plan to spend some quality time with my hubby and baby Nolan. I also hope to catch up on my favorite TV show “Scandal”.
It is Friday and a perfect time to post a casual outfit. Pairing denim with a simple top is something that I will wear on a weekend or for dinner date. In this post, I rocked my Sophia Webster pumps, which added a unique touch. It took the whole outfit from being just casual, to chic. I believe great shoes can transform a simple outfit to a chic one.

Cobalt Blue

Hi loves! Happy Wednesday! This means the weekend is around the corner. Let me rewind a bit; did you get to watch the Oscars? Ellen Degeneres was definitely amazing as a host from the pizza delivery surprise to the now popular selfie photo, she performed brilliantly.
If you follow me on Facebook, you probably got a look at most of the red carpet styles. I also posted my favorite picks for the night on my Instagram such as the outfits of Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong’o. I was so happy for Lupita’s win and her speech was powerful. Her quote that “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid” still resonates with me.
In continuation of my previous post i.e. “Trend Alert: Cobalt blue”, I want to show you guys how I styled cobalt blue. For this outfit, I went for a monochrome approach before completing the look with a different shade of blue. My goal was to create a contrast. You can also get different styling inspiration with cobalt blue from my previous posts here, here and here. I love the vibrant and deep tone to the color…a statement piece on its own.

NEW IN: Gianvito Rossi

NEW IN: Gianvito Rossi pumps. I have been a huge fan of Gianvito's shoes especially the PVC pumps. I love and admire the unique patterns of his designs. I have had my eyes on these pumps since its debut and luckily, got one when it sold for less than half of the original price. I wanted the yellow and black pair but opted for the pacific color when it went on sale – I love shoes but love good bargains even more. I have some other Gianvito Rossi pumps on my radar and I am waiting patiently for seasonal sales.
