Work Style: Short Suit

Hi loves, Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was fun and relaxing. On Saturday, I helped organize and plan a friend’s surprise baby shower which turned out great. On Sunday after church, hubby and I went to the movies to see “Think like a Man Too”. I like the first one better; what do you think? i.e. which is better? I hope to see the “Transformers” soon.
Today’s outfit post is about summer work style. For summer, I love to switch up my work style to accommodate the warm weather and of course, ensuring that it is an appropriate outfit for work. Rather than the usual work pants/skirt, these Bermuda shorts with appropriate length and fit could make for a chic work attire. I completed the look with a fitted blazer, classic white shirt and pumps.

Pineapple Print

Hi everyone! Hope your week is going well. It has been a pretty busy week for me but that did not stop me from watching a few matches in the ongoing world cup. I just finished watching the Nigeria vs. Argentina game which was very exciting and nerve wrecking. I thought my heart was going to jump from my body LOL! I love to watch soccer and an interesting fact about me is that I played on my high school team in Minnesota.
Another fun fact is that I love tropical prints including the Topshop pineapple print dress I wore on this post. I like the blend of calm colors with a pop of yellow which blends well with the pineapple print. It is great for a summer outing with friends or simply being paired with flats for a summer picnic.

Candy Cane

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I spent Friday and Saturday making final preparations towards Nolan’s first birthday party. His Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party was on Sunday at a State Park and the color highlights were yellow, red and black accents.

We had so much fun and I hope our guests did too. My friends and I played in the moon bounce meant for the kids … yep, the adults could not resist catching some fun (believe me, it was so much fun). I also love how Nolan’s cake turned out and very similar to his ‘cake smash’ giant cupcake (seen here). I will share pictures from the party once available on Instagram.

If you follow me on Facebook, I occasionally post “Items of the day” and the pair on this post is one of the items I posted a few weeks ago. Lately, I have been all about these shoes. It is hard to deny how gorgeous they are and I love almost anything with bow accents. The striped pattern and color reminds me of candy cane, which I love. To top it off, I have the Eiffel tower at the bottom of the shoes; all I need is a ticket to Paris ;)

P.S. If you love these shoes as much as I do, Candy Room is giving all my readers 10% off the retail price with code JADORE (US & International readers) + FREE shipping (US only) until June 30, 2014. Get it before it is sold out. They have the blue striped ones too.

Work Style: Neutrals & Pleats

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We had a nice trip to Puerto Rico and I am looking forward to another. On Saturday, I met with Nordstrom’s Pentagon team previewing different brands and upcoming collections including Topshop, J Brand, and Free people. I also got to know about Alex and Ani jewelries and I love their specialized bracelets.
On Sunday, we celebrated hubby’s first Father’s Day. You can check out my Instagram to see the custom top Nolan wore to wish daddy a Happy Father’s Day.
Today’s outfit post is a work related style. For work, I typically mix floral, pastel or neutral colors during spring and summer seasons. This time, I went for a monochrome look - I love the subtle and fresh feel. I kept every other thing at a minimal level.

Dungaree

Hi loves! Happy Friday! Finally back to Maryland after almost a week in Puerto Rico with my family. Prior to departing, we went to Old San Juan for a stroll and lunch. This was my second visit to Old San Juan.  I visited the same spot two years ago. I love the scenery including the colorful row houses and architecture.

Before heading out, I knew I wanted a simple and comfortable outfit due to the weather and narrow cobblestone streets. I decided on overalls or dungaree with flats. Definitely a place to visit

Family Vacation: Puerto Rico

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful week. Thanks for the travel tips and per suggestions, I made sure Nolan was being fed during take-off and landing to prevent ear pressure issues. After take-off, he slept for over two hours. He later played and looked curiously at other passengers who walked by. We made it through our first flight with him and the trip has been great so far. We are enjoying the scenery and food. On our first day, we strolled around and took Nolan to the beach which he loved. He was intrigued by the sand and by the time he was done playing, his whole body and hair was covered in sand. LOL!

Here are some of the pictures we took yesterday. More pictures can be seen on Instagram.

Black & White: Peplum Hem Skirt

Hi beautiful people! Hope you all had a great weekend and ready for the new week. My weekend was relaxing. On Saturday, I put together the gift bags for Nolan's birthday party with the help of my friend Bisi. The rest of the weekend was spent packing for our first family vacation with Nolan. We had a smooth flight and to our surprise, Nolan did not cry during take-off and landing. I will share my outfit posts but in the meantime, you can check out all my activities and other behind the scenes moments on my Instagram.

For this post, I wanted something casual and classy making me select the Forever 21 jersey shirt (previous worn here). For a classy take, I wore one of my favorite Asos skirt. The fit and style is awesome and I have it in different colors including pink and lime green. The whole outfit focuses on black and white from the jersey to the Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Traveling around the world is my passion and there are so many beautiful places I would love to visit i.e. Greece, Phuket, Morocco and Spain to name a few. In addition to these, there are places I love revisiting like Puerto Rico. This will be my 2nd visit to Puerto Rico and my friends and coworkers have given me great recommendations of what to do and where to visit. Before I leave for PR, check out my vacation essentials.

Bermuda Shorts

Hi everyone! Happy Friday and hope you had an enjoyable week. If yours was busy like mine, I am sure you are glad the weekend is here. I am even more excited for our first family vacation with Nolan. I really hope he does not cry on the plane. Do you have any pointers on traveling with an infant i.e TSA checkpoints e.t.c? I am eager to hear all your ideas and suggestions and please feel free to e-mail me.

Lately, I have embraced Bermuda shorts, which is slowing becoming a summer trend. This orange pair from Front Row is super comfy and can be dressed up or down…the color is definitely fantastic for the summer. Other versions I love are the “boyfriend” pairs here and here and the wide-leg versions here. What do you think?
For this post, I paired it with an eyelet crop top and denim jacket for a casual approach and later switched to a silk cami perfect for a date night. I completed the look with a translucent clutch and beige pumps.

Jump Suit

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. For me, the weekend was all about relaxing since I had a busy week. I also had to do some errands for Nolan’s first birthday party. I am excited and very emotional because I can't believe my little baby will be one year old in a few weeks... still feels like he was born just yesterday.

For the outfit post today, I wanted to wear something fun and chic. The bow details of the jumpsuit caught my attention when I saw it on Asos last year. This is my first time wearing it after several months in my closet. I kept the accessories to a minimal level with simple jewelries from Lumo and an embellished clutch...definitely a perfect outfit for a date night or a birthday celebration.
