Stripes & Checkers

Hello guys! Happy New Month and hope you are doing great. I had an amazing day at work today. My coworkers organized a surprise baby shower which caught me completely off guard. It was an emotional moment for me and I felt so loved. I spent the remaining part of my day opening all the gifts. Every time I stare at the baby items we have purchased or received as gifts, I feel truly blessed; in a few months, I will be a mom.

In this post, I am wearing a Zara stripped pant. Finding the perfect fit for my increasing belly bump is difficult so I went a size up to achieve the best fitting for the pant. I used a belt band to hold the buckle in place while wearing a blazer in my regular size. I completed my look with Miu Miu checkered pumps.

Hi everyone! The weekend is right around the corner. Do you have any plans for the weekend? I plan to eat, sleep and send replies to several e-mails.

This spring, I have noticed a lot of 'leaf print' items i.e. tops, bottoms and swimsuits. I have had the Zara leaf print pants that I am wearing in this post for almost 2 years and it happened to be my first time wearing it. Surprisingly, it was still a fit for me with the help of a "belly belt" :). I love the print colors and I definitely see myself styling it in different ways. For the post, I wore my H&M purple blouse and completed the look with a Valentino rockstud shoes for an edgy touch.

Hi guys! Hope all has been well with you.  Over the weekend, I had a 3D/4D scan, which was interesting. It was great seeing my munchkin's face. Throughout the scan, my little munchkin had his/her hands on the face, yawning and sucking a finger...super cute! That was definitely the highlight of my weekend.

The Asos maternity jeans I am wearing in this post is one of my favorite pair right now as it is very comfy. I wore the jeans earlier in the year here; and as the weather warmed up, I paired it with a stripped blue JCrew shirt. Visible in the outfit are the colors blue and white hence, the title of today’s post.

Hi guys! Hope your week has been a great one. Besides the unusual exhaustion, my week has been good. This trimester has been pretty interesting...some times, I feel energized and other times, all I want to do is sleep. That is exactly what happened yesterday. I was so exhausted and this prevented me from blogging as scheduled. I gazed at my laptop half asleep...smh! Pregnant Life!

On another note, I am excited for the weekend because I have my 3D/4D scan appointment. I have seen lots of pictures and videos on YouTube and I am so excited to see my munchkin...yayyy! :)  Look out for my second 'Pregnancy Chronicles' video coming soon with my answers to some of your questions. In case you didn't see the first video, check it out here.

I wore the top in this post to a Nigerian traditional wedding some weeks ago. I wanted something comfortable and stylish, so I came up with the style and my tailor customized it. She also made the pants from a stretchy material for comfort. It was a beautiful wedding and I danced in those heels all night. Nigerian/Yoruba Traditional weddings are always colorful and beautiful as seen here. It is always nice seeing everyone with different styles of the same fabric.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. My weekend was very productive and my mum also visited. She cooked so much food that I could barely stop eating. Not only did she cook, she helped me organize my new closet...love her :) Over the weekend, the painters finished working on our baby’s nursery. It is officially painted in light green with dark green stripes. I bet you are wondering the gender now...LOL! I will tell you soon enough. I am getting really excited. At times, I have my moments of nervousness but I am so ready to meet this amazing angel.

It is getting warmer and nothing reminds me of summer more than bright colors. Yellow is one of my favorite colors for the spring and summer. I recently bought a cute yellow bodysuit for my munchkin. I will instagram it later. Talking about bright colors; in this post, I am wearing a Zara yellow dress which I bought a while ago. I never had the chance to wear it until our recent visit to Punta Cana. I love the slit sleeves and I paired it with one of my favorite heels from Zara for dinner with my husband. I later changed to flats to walk around the resort.

What is your favorite Spring/Summer color?

Spring 2013: Lucite Clutch
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

This spring, it is all about transparent clutches or lucite clutches. Another daring trend that you can either pull off or not. These clear clutches are making a wave and one of the huge accessories for Spring/Summer 2013. If you don't want the contents of your clutch visible, you can go for the colored lucite clutches. For the fashion risk takers, the clear version is your best pick.

This trend has been spotted on celebrities including Solange Knowles with CC Skye clutch and  Elizabeth Moss with Charlotte Olympia clutch and Rosario Dawson. Also, they have been noticeably present among fashion editors since last year.

Thoughts? Would you be embracing this trend?

Hi everyone! How was your Easter break? Mine was pretty relaxing. On Saturday, I cooked one of my favorite soups, Banga soup. On that day, a friend visited me and we also had decorators from Pottery Barn at our house. We are in the process of decorating our little munchkin's nursery and I have been considering different shades of green and decals. We were also able to order some major items i.e. crib, stroller, dresser...everything is looking surreal. I can't wait to put everything together and I am really looking forward to our summer baby. :)
Talking about summer, it is getting warmer in Maryland. For the past couple of days, the temperature has been in the 50s and low 60s, which is great. It is not yet as warm as it was in Punta Cana. The pictures in this post bring back fun memories of our trip to DR. I have had the BCBG dress for about a year and it was my second time wearing it. The cobalt color complements that of the sky and water. The back details and front slit of the dress makes it an outfit that can be dressed up or down.
