A Year in Review...2012 Recap

Statement skirts by jadore-fashion

It has been a wonderful year and in a couple of hours, I will be saying goodbye to 2012. I just want to thank each and every one of you that visited this blog, left comments and sent me emails. Thank you so much for your tremendous support. You guys have been with me from day one and some of you just got on board and your support has been amazing. 2012 was amazing for me; I got my MBA degree (Finance), visited some amazing destinations, attended the NY fashion week IFB Conference and had some awesome features and collaborations with great brands such as TJ Maxx,  Bebe, Love Creation, Styleblazer and Virgos Lounge etc.

I am so grateful to God and I am looking forward to great 2013

Emeralds & Motif Sweater

Hi everyone! How have you been? The week is almost over and Christmas is five days away. What are your plans for the holiday? By now, I should be fully packed for my trip to Canada but lately, I have been very tired and all I want to do is eat and sleep. I have no idea what the weather will be like in Toronto, but I will be packing lots of sweaters and maybe my favorite motif sweaters ;)

My husband took these pictures in which I am wearing another motif sweater. Yes, you can say it again; I am getting addicted to motif sweaters! I love the color highlight of the 'pear' motif. While I love to experiment with colors, I try to ensure they complement with other elements of my outfit as shown in this post. I wore my emerald print pants from Asos and this will be my second time wearing it since the IFB NY Conference in September.

I love emeralds which just happen to be my birthstone. To match, I wore Jean-Michel Cazabat color-block pumps. If you remember, I blogged about my obsession back in September here and this is the first time I am wearing it. The emerald/blue color of the pumps not only complements the pants, but adds a unique touch to the whole outfit. My makeup is neutral with a nude lipstick from MAC...first time trying it also.

Work Style: Geometric Skirt

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and yours wasn’t as short as mine. I worked on Saturday morning before heading to my pilates class. The last time I went to the class was during the thanksgiving break so, I was a bit apprehensive. However, after the session, I was refreshed and had some energy to run a couple of errands which included picking up some sweet pastries. The weather was great on Saturday and it felt like spring; I did without a winter jacket throughout the day.

In this post, I am wearing a 'geometric' skirt from JCrew. I fell in love with the unique pattern when I saw it on their website but I had to wait for it to go on sale before making a purchase. In essence, I stalked their sale section everyday. :) The focus of this outfit is the skirt and I incorporated colors from the skirt by wearing a matching Zara blouse. The blouse is one of my first purchases from Zara years ago. I bought it in Miami prior to Zara launching their US online store. My “go-to bag” came in handy for this shoot as I am sometimes lazy to switch bags especially during the week given my busy work schedule. I completed the look with classic black pumps. I definitely need a new pair of these pigalles...hello santa! ;)

Watching out for accessories

While searching for the right outfit for upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I also began to think about the proper accessories to be worn on these occasions. I do pay a lot of attention to detail, so accessories are really important for me. And it is always a real challenge to find something appropriate. As Christmas is the time of the year when we should care most for our family and friends, I do, while shopping for myself, also watch out for accessories to give to them as presents. Here are my findings for this year’s Christmas.

A piece which lasts forever

For my closest friends and family members I usually try to find something of high value; something which is precious, and which has a long life span. For that reason, I am thinking about buying a highly desirable Girard Perregaux watch for one of my lovelies. The classic look fits every style and also signifies a taste for good quality. And the good thing about this accessory is that it also has a very important function. It tells its wearer the time at one glance. It is, for that reason, more than just a beauty device. The variety of watches, is so huge that everybody can be sure to find a piece for his or her individual taste.

Some things are "girls only”

Of course, being the fashion-conscious person I am, I also want to dress my closest pals in glamor for Christmas. And as most of my pals are girls like me, I do focus very much on the fashion for their feet – shoes tell so much about one’s personality. For that reason, I go for the hottest shoes with high heels and in the sexiest shapes. In that way, every Christmas walk can be enjoyed even more.

Casual Night Out leather & oasis
It drizzled the other day and I did not feel like leaving the house however, I was excited when my hubby and I drove to Coldstone to pick up my favorite banana caramel crunch ice cream. I still relish the taste even while typing this post...smh! After leaving Coldstone, we grabbed a dinner bag from Don Pablos. I cannot remember the last time I was there but I love their chicken quesadilla.

I wore an oasis leather skirt and trying to be simple and casual, I paired it with my aerosoles riding boots. These boots have been through all types of weathers and blizzards for the past 4 years and counting. For warmth, I wore my heart-shaped sweater from TJ Maxx. As you will tell from my previous posts, I love motif sweaters. There is something chic and fun about motif sweaters...a great way to add character to any outfit.

Plaid Pants & Motif Sweater

PAO_3299-2198839658-OHi everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I spent most of my weekend at home as I wasn't feeling so well. This gave me the opportunity to catch up on some of my recorded shows such as 'Revenge', '90210' and 'Scandal'. I am watching the first season of 'Scandal' and I am already hooked. What shows do you guys watch or record on your DVR? I need to add more interesting shows to my list.

The rainy and gloomy weather made me sleepy and thanks to this cute puppy sweater from JCrew for keeping me warm ;) Styling an outfit with a neutral base like the plaid JCrew pants is always safe. When wearing neutral tones I always imagine black colors because it makes it easier to select accessories to complement. Using the pants as a styling focus, I incorporated items based on its striped details. Since we are in the fall season, I wore the charcoal motif sweater for warmth and a black zara bag to complement. The burnt orange belt adds a touch of color without taking away from the pant details. I completed the look with beige pumps that tie the neutral tones.

Sequins & Peplum

Hi everyone! Hope you are doing great. The days are flying by so fast bringing us closer to Christmas. I am in a festive mood and I recently discovered this sequin skirt that I have had for almost a year. I totally forgot about it until a couple of days ago. This is the point where my hubby usually says, "Maybe I should have sold it and you will not have noticed." So not true! I would have noticed. The color and sequins detail of the skirt is unforgettable. The skirt has a bold emerald color with distinctive details which made me pair with a black peplum top and a pair of black shoes. The peplum top adds a classic touch and I added a Zara statement necklace and Asos clutch which is also emerald in color with black lace details. I had to brave the cold weather when I took off the military inspired coat for a full outfit shot.

Leather & Burgundy

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. My weekend was relaxing and fun. A major highlight from my weekend was my friend’s engagement. I am super excited for her. Phew… it was not easy keeping the secret from her. Now, I am able to tweet about it and the joke about the preparations made without her knowledge. If you follow me on instagram (@jadorefashion), you definitely saw the cute ring...beautiful. In this post, my burgundy leather skirt is making an appearance. If you remember, I wore the same skirt in black here and I could not wait to wear the burgundy. I love the fitting and length of the skirt. I wore a JCrew two-tone sweater which compliments the skirt while adding a pop of color. Further adding color is my red Zara coat – warm and cozy. I like the red and burgundy combination which blends perfectly with the fall background.
