Navajo Pants

Another new week! The days are going by so quick and January is almost over. My weekend was quite relaxing. I spent part of my Saturday studying after work and getting back into the hang of school. I was so exhausted from a long week that I pretty much stayed home after church on Sunday catching up on shows like '90210' and 'The Real Housewives'. Later in the evening, I watched the SAG Awards' red carpet, while tweeting my thoughts on the styles.

This is my first post here with my new hair style. I posted a casual picture with my new hair last Sunday while watching football on my Facebook page. I can't remember the last time I braided my hair. It takes a lot of patience to sit through hours to get tiny braids done, but I love the after effect :)

I had my hair braided a day before I left Nigeria because I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to braid my hair or not. I am glad that I did--loving it :)

When I got to work, some of my coworkers could barely recognize me because most of them have never seen me in braids. Do I really look different?

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Love you all and I love tweeting with you guys...if you are not following me yet...join me here ;)

A while ago...

Hello beautiful people... I am officially back to school for my last semester as a graduate student. Tonight was my second day; so far, things haven't picked up quite yet; but looking at my syllabus, it is going to be a busy semester. One thing for sure is that I am looking forward to May when I will be officially done with my MBA program.

I never got a chance to post these pictures before I travelled. This Zara harem pant has become my comfort and chic pant. I apologize if it seems you are seeing so much of these shoes in my posts -- a case when you suddenly discover shoes you have and haven't worn in a year :D
These shoes are a bargain; bought them 3 years ago for $15 from Bakers shoes...Thanks to my friend B!
Outfit: Zara pants, Forever 21 tank & blazer, H&M bag, Michael Kors watch, Bakers shoes

I have been awake since 4am eyes are slowly closing and my bed is calling my name :)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Bloggers Get Blushed Event

While in Nigeria, I attended the Bloggers Get Blushed event in Lagos, which turned out to be great and fun. I honestly didn't know what to expect and at the same time, I was so nervous how people were going to receive me. Of course, being shy makes it even harder; but when I got there, I was beyond impressed. Nneka of Neks2u did a great job in organizing the event and Blush Beauty Salon was super beautiful--special thanks for having me :)

Sunday Inspiration

With the first snow of the season yesterday, I can't help but continue to imagine spring: sunlights, prints, florals -- you name it!
I am currently inspired by prints, graphic prints, florals, emerald green and everything that screams spring. In my book, it is not too early to be inspired by spring...

Here are my current inspiration for today...

Inspired by Proenza Schouler spring/summer 2012

 Have a lovely Sunday...
Stay inspired...

I am finally home and safe; but I am super tired and jetlagged. My original flight was supposed to leave last Friday, but due to the labor strike, my flight got canceled and rescheduled with a new flight and route. Instead of going through Houston, my rescheduled flight went through Germany and NY--the longest flight. I slept so much that I got tired of sleeping. I think I need my own private jet; who wants to buy one for me? :) LOL
Right now, I am trying to adjust back to the time zone here because Nigeria is 6 hours ahead. At the same time, I am getting things ready for my last semester as a graduate...phewwwww!
The bar and buffet -- great place to chill with friends

Out In Lagos

Hey beautiful people! How is your day going? I am officially on my way back to the airport and heading back to the States. I had an awesome time here despite my flight being rescheduled due to the labor strike.  I went almost everywhere that I wanted to go to and all has been fun filled with interesting experiences.

Went out with some family friends to the beach by Lekki in Lagos. They were also having some sort of a reunion thing for my friend's school: Covenant University. It was just nice setting with our friends and enjoying the company of the other visitors at the event.
Enjoying some nice Nigerian music ;)

Trend Alert: Spring/Summer 2012

Are you ready for spring? It is almost time to update your closet and put away the constant grey and black and embrace florals, neons and everything that comes with spring.

1. Graphic Prints: If you are tired and bored of your usual print like polka dots, plaids e.t.c, experiment with prints such as tribal prints,  artistic, modern, futuristic or abstract prints.

2. Peplum: Short flared ruffles that sits right on the waist: classy, elegant and a little bit of flirt! It can be worn in a skirt or top form.

3. Floral Prints: You can wear floral prints with a solid color and if you are bold enough, you can mix two similar tone prints.

4. Neon Colors: Think neon red, yellow, green, blue.... Find out what color work best for you.

5. Pastel Colors: Pastel hues reflects a sweet, ladylike & whimsical vibe

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Hugs & kisses
