Military influenced style have been popping up on runways and shops. With military looks, think brass buttons, blazers with decoratives touches. Am loving these military looks and jackets. Of course, if you don't want to look too 'military' you can add some feminie touches like ruffles or bows. But to complete the military look add some boots--some knee length boots will do. Like my friends will say, "finally". Yeah, I have finally cut my hair. I just wanted something different as fall is approaching. It also comes with my ever evolving style. I guess right now, am loving anything inspired by men, rock, black, European...the list goes on. Hope you guys like it because I do :) Like I said in previous post, its way easier for me to take care of--great combination with hot weather!
Outfit:F21 pants and tank, bag: thrift store, booties: Michael kors @ Nordstrom
I decided to try some thing different which is taking inches off my hair, I finally got a hair cut; so, this is the last pictures of a longer hair for now except if extension come calling later. Right now, am enjoying my new hair cut. It feels much light and easier to care for. Watch out for the debute of my new hair cut--coming soon! ;-) For now, this is the lovely skirt I wore to church. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Outfit: H&M Skirt, Belt: Mom's, Aldo shoes, F21 tank
I can be a little indecisive at times. I had to run to the grocery shop, but didn't know whether to go with just the head band or the hat--pretty hot outside if I may add. Finally, I settled with just the headband. Thanks to CC at www.couturecarrie.blogspot.com, I adopted the alphabet idea :) xx
It feels so good to just be home sleeping in today. I have finally decided to get contacts--yes, I do use prescription glasses which I dislike because it hurts the bridge of my nose and it makes it difficult for me to wear my lovely sunglasses ;-). Hope I like using contact because I don't like the idea of sticking my hands in my eyes lol. Stay tuned because I will definitely have my complains or love for the contacts. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Those looking forward to the weekend, hold tight because its almost here. :)
I had a question from an anonymous reader who wanted to know places where to take kids to in Lagos or Abuja, Nigeria. To answer your question my lovely reader, I have found some few places I believe your kids will enjoy. In Lagos, there are places like the Water Park, Lekki Conservation Center in Lekki, Silver Bird Cinema, Fantasy Land, and Funtopia to name a few. In Abuja, there are Wonderland Park, Children's Garden, and Millennium Park. I hope this helps! peace! xoxo
Outfit: F21 tank & bag, Express tights, Colin Stuart boots, H&M beret,
I love everything about Balmain. I am currently so in love with the fall 08 collection. I just want it all. I will try and recreate some of the outfits on polyvore with affordable choices in my own ways. For now, enjoy the drooling Balmain f08 collection--love the rocker chic, sexy, and feminine thing going on--tres chic. :)
Happy Sunday, my dear readers; first, I will love to thank you guys so so much for your kind words and comments. It always makes my day seeing those sweet comments. :) Today started off with church service and then I made spaghetti. Gosh! I could probably each spaghetti or any pasta everyday without getting tired of it--just love pasta!!! The rest of the day, I will probably go see a movie or just rent a movie and do the whole home date movie thing with bf ;-) Hope you're having a great weekend--till then... Au revoir! xoxo
I think am a bit home sick. I miss my good old friends, cousins, and aunts. I really miss the fun I had last December when I visited. Am looking forward to my visit this year because I get to reunite with old friends who are in Nigeria and those who are coming back from other countries. I guess, it's sort of like a reunion. The difficult part when I remember home is that I will not get to see my grandma, who past away late February of this year. I don't know how I will handle not seeing her when I get back because the BIG reason I go visit more often was to see her--until then, I don't want to get teary eye talking about her.
Meet my nana: This picture was taken in Jan. 08, 1-2hrs before I departed back to America--this was my last with her, Love u, RIP
Ok, off from the sad part, here are pictures of areas they never show you about Nigeria. Enjoy Lagos state beach Fast food joint Wonderland Park, Abuja State Ocean Crest School, Lagos State Shopping center called Shoprite, Lagos state

I am feeling fall in the air already! may be because the weather has started to charge slowly. Here, it's slightly cooler than usual in the mornings & evenings. Am not really complaining; for some reason this year, am excited for fall--then again, I hate when it is too cold and windy like we are expecting a snow storm. Either way, I am looking forward to fall :-)
Change of topic, am really enjoying the Olympics, especially the swimming and gymnastics. I am patiently awaiting the track events.
until then, I got to go make my Okra soup, yum yum! :-h xx
F21 strip tank, hat, & shorts, boots: Colin Stuart??
I had a blast this weekend. I went for this Fest Africa in Baltimore, MD. It's a Festival that showcases all things Africa. There were different types of foods, performers, fashion from different parts of Africa. I really enjoyed the last performer of the day Mike Okri. I didn't know who the performer was until I finally heard him perform and it brought back memories of when I was younger and hearing his song all over the radio in Nigeria. sorry for the short video, the battery of camera died!
Sorry am so focused watching 2008 Summer Olympics Beijing. I am so impressed; now, can the next hosting country top this. Beijing has been on my travel list--such a great culture they have... I fell in love with the little kid in red singing. Tune in and watch. Will update you later. This is what I wore today to run errands and get my favorite summer drink: strawberry smoothie with whip cream...yum!
Mary-Kate Olsen along with her twin sister Ashley are behind the clothing labels "The Row" and "Elizabeth and James". They both have great style; but Mary-kate's style is undescribable, unique, and daring. She is always creating or bringing back trends in her own ways. She dares to mix and match anything whether the media likes it or not. Love her style, one of my style inspiration.
I had a great time at my trip to VA beach with bf and friends. It was a well needed fun time since I have been so busy with work and I haven't been to the beach this summer. I got to relax at the beach most of the day, did bike racing, and played soccer. In the evening, we saw a comedy show and strolled down the streets. I barely slept the night before we had to leave because my friend will not just let us girls sleep; so we all gossiped all night long--great girl talk :) Hope everyone had a great weekend. I am still suffering from fun withdrawal, please bear with me. xoxo the effects of salt water?? :-P before our 5hrs drive back to reality
It's first day of August, closer to fall--time where no one will stir at you like your crazy for wearing boots in the summer ;-) I got some stirs when I wore this outfit to rent a movie and to the mall. This bold guy at an express store actually stopped me and said, "boots in summer [with BIG grin], but you pulled it off"; I just added my thanks to his words and smiled away :). A lot of stiring always come with some of my outfit choices been that I live in MD where out of the box dressing comes with a BIG stir. Let them stir, my shadow will say ;-) Have a nice weekend lovely readers, while I take my needed break to the beach. xoxo
